PT MRT will Purchase British Embassy Former Office

Former land of British Embassy office in HI roundabout, Central Jakarta, is planned to be purchased by PT Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta.

It would be easier if PT MRT bought the land. Management had discussed about it. The effort could be done by tender

"PT MRT wants to take it all," said Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama at City Hall, Wednesday (5/7).

The land purchase will be incorporated into a green open space park. "Initially, we want to buy the former land of the British Embassy," Basuki stated.

Basuki: MRT Project will Not Be Canceled

If it is built, the MRT will be more prominent since the HI roundabout is a strategic intersection that meets with other transport, either TransJakarta or electric train.

"It would be easier if PT MRT bought the land. Management had discussed about it. The effort could be done by tender," Basuki added.

The city government has submitted a purchase letter to the British Embassy.

The British Embassy Office has been moved to Jalan Patra Kuningan Raya, Block L No. 5-6, Setiabudi, South Jakarta since June 25, 2013.
